If you regard the festive season as a special kind of hell, then you could do worse than to come to the Ellington for one of Libby Hammer’s Christmas concerts. It’s the perfect antidote to anyone feeling like 2022 has made their heart two sizes too small. It’s a swig of pinwheel red and white peppermint antacid for the indigestive soul. It’s irreverent but never blasphemous, uplifting and profound, and it hits a delightful balance of holiday selfishness and also selflessness. It’s a heart-embiggening evening of fun, humbuggy Yuletide jazz and laughter.

As always, Libby will be joined on stage by Alistair McEvoy on saxophones, Chris Foster on piano, Nick Abbey on bass, Michael Perkins on drums, and a very special jolly guest may drop in for his yearly visit and mistletoe-kiss from Libby.
